Carpet, hardwood, vinyl, laminate and tile taken up cleanly, leaving a flat, prepared subfloor ready for new flooring.
Old flooring is rarely just one layer. A room may have carpet over vinyl over plywood, or tile set in thick mortar over a concrete slab, and each layer comes up differently. The right method protects the subfloor beneath and keeps dust and noise under control.
We identify what is under your floor, choose the right tools for each layer and remove it in manageable sections. Carpet and pad roll up, hardwood and laminate are pried or cut, and tile and mortar beds are chipped out with care. We scrape adhesive, pull nails and staples and leave a clean subfloor that is ready for inspection or new flooring.
Glue-down flooring and old adhesives can be tough to remove and some older ones contain asbestos. We test or recommend testing for older floors before disturbing them.
Thick mortar beds are heavy and make a lot of dust and noise. We use the right chipping tools and control dust so the subfloor underneath is not damaged more than necessary.
A flat, sound subfloor is the foundation of new flooring. We remove materials without gouging wood or cracking slabs where we can, and we flag problems we find.
Hardwood boards, tile and carpet sometimes have a second life. We can set aside what you want to reuse and recycle what we can.
