Whole-Home Interior Gut Demolition

Every room taken back to the studs and joists, with the structure protected and a clean, open shell left for a full renovation.

A full renovation often begins with a full gut. Walls, ceilings, floors, trim, fixtures and old systems are removed so the house can be rebuilt with new wiring, plumbing, insulation and finishes. It is a large job, and it needs a plan that protects the structure while everything else comes out.

We mark load-bearing walls and structural members with your builder or engineer, set up debris chutes and containment, strip the interior room by room and keep material moving out so the house never fills with rubble. When we finish, you have a clean, open shell with the framing exposed for inspection and the next trades.

Know what carries the load

Some walls hold up the roof and floors above. We work from your plans or engineer notes and mark what must stay, so a gut renovation never weakens the house.

Containment and chutes

Plastic containment, dust control and debris chutes keep dust and mess inside the work area and let material leave the house without crossing finished spaces.

Older homes and old materials

Plaster, lath, old insulation, paint and flooring in older houses can contain hazardous materials. We recommend a survey before work begins and follow what it finds.

Leave it ready

Framing exposed, nails pulled and the floor swept makes inspection and the next trades easy. A clean shell saves money for everyone who follows.

Questions

Whole-Home Interior Gut FAQ

How long does a whole-home gut take?

Most homes take several days to a couple of weeks, depending on size, materials and access. We give a schedule after the walk-through.

Do you leave the structure intact?

Yes. We remove interior finishes and non-structural parts and protect the framing, roof and floors.

Do you need an engineer?

Not for plain strip-out, but for walls that might carry load we work from plans or an engineer review.

Can I live in the house during a gut?

Not safely. A gut is best done in an empty home, and we can plan the timing around your move.

How much debris does a gut create?

A lot. We plan dumpsters and hauling in advance and our debris tool can help you estimate it.
