Kitchen Demolition

Cabinets, counters, appliances, flooring and walls taken out cleanly, so your remodeler starts with a clear, protected, ready-to-build space.

A kitchen remodel starts the day the old kitchen comes out, and that day sets the tone for the whole project. Cabinets are screwed, glued and nailed in, counters are heavy, tile is stubborn and plumbing and wiring hide behind every wall. Doing it right means removing what you want gone and protecting what you want to keep.

We walk the kitchen with you first and mark what stays and what goes. Then we cover floors and openings, shut off and cap what must be capped with your plumber and electrician, remove the cabinets, counters, backsplash and flooring in a planned order and haul everything out. The room is swept and left ready for framing, rough-in and new finishes.

Plan what stays

Walk the room and decide up front about the floor, the walls, the ceiling and anything you want to save, such as a sink or a set of cabinets. A clear plan avoids damage to things you meant to keep.

Utilities first

Water, gas and electric lines must be shut off and handled by the right trade before demolition starts. We coordinate the timing with your plumber and electrician so nothing is cut live.

Protecting the rest of the home

Dust travels. We hang plastic barriers, protect floors on the path out and keep the work area sealed from the rest of the house, so the remodel does not follow you into every room.

Ready for the next trade

We leave the space swept, framing visible and the subfloor accessible, so your remodeler, plumber and electrician can start without cleaning up after us.

Questions

Kitchen Demolition FAQ

How long does kitchen demolition take?

Most kitchens take one to two days, depending on size, flooring and how many walls are involved. We give you a schedule at the walk-through.

Do I need to be home?

You do not need to stay, but a quick walk-through at the start and a final look at the end helps. We keep you informed by phone or message.

Can you save my cabinets?

Often, if they are in good shape. We can remove them carefully for reuse or donation when that fits your plan.

Will you disconnect the plumbing and gas?

Gas and plumbing should be disconnected by the right qualified trade. We coordinate with them and demolish once the lines are safely capped.

What about asbestos in old flooring?

Older flooring and adhesives can contain asbestos. If your home is older, we recommend testing before removal and we can coordinate it.
